The Ignite Challenge awards ideas that develop indigenous solutions to solve African problems. We do this through an exciting and holistic process that transforms young people with ideas to well-connected and established entrepreneurs. We connect you with high profile experts and mentors, we nurture your knowledge with a curriculum of business for social good, and of human dignity for integrity in business.
Based on the African Union Agenda 2063, each year we launch cases on some of the most pressing challenges in Africa for you to think about and create an innovative social enterprise that can help your community, your country and our continent in solving this pressing problem.
Form a team of 2 to 4 members and apply to become one of our semifinalists. Check our Applicability criteria here and start the process for this life-changing opportunity!
Shortlisted competitors will be contacted via email (make sure you write it correctly in your application) and will be notified about the day and venue for your next competition. Although our goal is to have on ground semifinals throughout the continent, for countries where semifinals are not available and competitors cannot travel, do not worry! We have On-line rounds for you. We highly encourage you to attend on-site competition to live a memorable experience, where you will be meeting like-minded passionate social entrepreneurs, local and international judges, get inspired by our guest speakers, and build long-lasting impact relationships.
The winning team from each semifinal and on-line winners will win an automatic pass to our Ignite Africa Fellowship and Accelerator Program.
Accelerated finalist and fellows will pitch their idea in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a chance to win $100,000!
We connect all finalist with opportunities beyond the competition and we take personal interest in making sure they get all the support and mentorship they need to be successful.
